The Club MSV Trackday Trophy and Team Trophy are set to
entertain once again this weekend (13/14 August) as they
embark on their second and fourth round of the season respectively
at Donington Park.
The cost effective series designed for first time racers will
produce strong grids, including an impressive 29 car entry for the
Team Trophy at the Leicestershire circuit. The Team Trophy will
witness a special challenge this weekend as motoring journalists
Ben Anderson (Autosport), Rob Ladbrook (Motorsport News) and Ben
Barry (Car Magazine) plan to swap their notepads for race
overalls.
Club MSV Manager Alex Baker said: "We're obviously ecstatic
about the amount of interest we've had in the Trackday Trophy this
year and it's great to see some of this interest spilling over into
the Team Trophy which has a strong grid of 29 cars this weekend.
It's going to be an exciting weekend for both series."
The Trackday Trophy's last outing at the MSVR Indy Weekend
produced a thrilling 45 minute race which was only decided by a
dramatic final lap. Phill Capstick and Jack Goff, in their Lotus
Elise, mastered the tricky wet conditions early on and established
a healthy lead, but an impressive showing from James Britton denied
them victory. Briton, behind the wheel of a BMW, managed to catch
the pair in the second half of the race and grabbed the lead on the
final lap at Druids before taking the chequered flag.
