We’ve only just had enough time to catch our breaths from a pulsating season opener at Donington Park and it’s time to go racing once more! The second round of the 2024 Trackday Trophy year is set to be a cracker, with a large three-class grid taking on the highly sought-after Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
The historic track has welcomed some of motorsports two and four wheel greats, from Stirling Moss and Ayrton Senna, to Barry Sheene, Valentino Rossi and Lewis Hamilton. The rare opportunity to race on the extended Grand Prix loop is one that simply can’t be missed, with the combination of fast straights, drops and corners set to both thrill and challenge competitors in equal measure.
While the undulation and array of technical and fast corners will be a tricky proposition, there’s a reason why racing on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit is top of the bucket list for many in motorsport. Duking it out with fellow competitors through the Kent woodland will be a special experience, not just for those racing on the extended Grand Prix loop for the first time but also for those who have been lucky enough to have done it before.
Last time out, at Donington Park, Trackday Trophy returned with an action-packed race to kickstart the new season. An eclectic mix of production and production-based saloon, hatchback and sports cars all formed a large grid of competitors all hungry to earn the first podium places of the year. Exceptional racing was on display throughout the three classes, including some phenomenal overtakes and tactical defending. Ultimately, Motion Motorsport’s Justin Roberts and Nicole Drought claimed overall and Class B victory, with Semprini Racing’s Evans/Hart and Team Rebbieha’s Mchugh/Heslop making it a Honda Civic 1/2/3 in Class B! Team Wheelcare’s Trevor Hurrell put in a superb performance to top the first Class C podium of the year, while Boreham Motorsport (Midlands) father and son duo of Martyn and Rob Adams claimed the Class D victory.

Will any of the first class winners be able to replicate the achievement at Brands Hatch, or will it be one of the other many challengers who take to the top step in Kent?
Not long until we find out!
